Earlier I posted pics of the dog that hangs out by the
hotel. Such a sweet and friendly
dog! Last night Jessica said she was
thinking of taking the dog home to the US.
I suggested she think about it.
The dog is happy and well adjusted, well fed. And she may have a hard time being used to
roaming all day, being confined to a house or yard may be difficult… almost
like being in jail.

The hotel dog. |
Well, this morning, our leader Karen asked the hotel staff
if we could take her in to spay her. They said that was fine. Karen also offered to leave flea medication
for her if they would put it on her.
They said they did not have time for that, and if she continued to hang
around, they would have her removed. So
the rescue group picked her up today to spay her, and Jessica is going to try
to take her back to the States!

I spayed the hotel dog.
Pulled out a “pregnant uterus” but turned out to be a pyometra: an infected uterus (like a sack of pus)! We are all so glad we got her taken care
of. She would have died a terrible death
if we had not spayed her. Whew, really
saved a life today!
Many of the shelter animals came in today to be altered, along with many local family pets. Many of my favorites from the shelter came in today. What a wonderful bunch of dogs and cats!Dr Sue performing surgery with Dr Maria observing. |

We worked until about 9pm.
Got 67 animals cared for.
A few of us went out for a light dinner. The rest hit the hay! Expecting a very busy day tomorrow!
Wow, those are certainly some "working condition," and as stated, at least you're indoors. Cute dogs. Well done on saving the life of the hotel dog. BTW, it's sure nice to see the smile on Dr Stacy's face - even in the surgical mask. Grins.
