Most of the road from Bucharest to Galati (pronounced Gah-latz)
is a two lane, but driven like a 4 lane!
Look closely at the photos! Most
of the regular traffic is on the shoulder, the rest is passing and crossing
over the middle line! But all done
calmly, never felt unsafe.
Saw several horse and wagon vehicles. The horses just travel in the traffic.
Finally arrived at our hotel. Pretty plain, but has air conditioning (it is
in the mid 80’s today) and really fast internet! We had a wonderful dinner next door to the
hotel. The food prices are quite
reasonable. The tea that Nutmeg is
sitting by is a peach tea (Linda, you would LOVE it!!) full of fresh fruit like
a sangria! The tea was very “peachy” and
included thin sliced apple, strawberries, grapes, melon… and some fruit I did
not recognize. I will certainly have another
one of those!
Part of our group: Jessica, Chantel, Linda, Ginny, Marion, Sue and Karen (trip leader extradinaire!) Sue and I were in Ecuador together a few years ago! Nutmeg hanging out with us. |
Looks like a fun group. Lotsa Grins. You've already hit the ground running. Appears to be decent weather. Good pics.
